Les Oiseaux, 2022. Les Oiseaux is a permanent work of sound at the entrance of the Renzo Piano building of the “École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay”.

Les Oiseaux is a sound sculpture which proposes to experience Olivier Messiaen’s 1952 musical work, Le réveil des oiseaux (The Awakening of the Birds), sung only by the birds, without the mediation of musical instruments. The birds have been recorded individually and the work has required its own spatialization score – as well as 42 sound projection points – to transpose the musical arrangements and recreate a spectacular sense of space.
